After 15 Years of Pain, Waking Up Is Magic

Before we met Dr. McCord, we were involved in a semi-truck accident that severely damaged my neck and back. This led to seven surgeries that involved my neck, right shoulder and back. The last surgeon told me that I was maximum medically improved and that I would have to live this way for the rest of my life. He also told me that I would have to remain on pain medication increasing the dosage every year due to tolerance. After talking to a friend of ours who had similar problems with several failed back surgeries, he recommended me to Dr. McCord. I made an appointment with Dr. McCord in which we completed a series of tests to find out the damage he may be dealing with. At our next meeting, Dr. McCord informed me that it would be tough but that he could fix my back. I believed him. We had an understanding that we both had a part to do, and we agreed. Before surgery I lived in excruciating pain even though I was on pain medication at high doses. I suffered from numbness to both my legs and arms, depression, and severe back spasms. Since my surgery I could not immediately tell a difference. When I got up to walk six hours after surgery, I was able to feel my feet for the first time in 12 years. I could also tell an immediate difference when I came out of surgery. The pressure in my back was gone and all I really felt was the pain from incisions. Southern Hills have been amazing in caring for me and my wife and was there with us through it all. The CEO and Joey came to see me in my room. I can't tell you in words how blessed I feel. To Whom It May Concern: I am the wife of ****. I can't tell you how you have changed my husband's life and mine. He was in excruciating pain and the surgery has completely changed how he feels. The waiting room staff, same day surgery, nursing, and Dr. McCord's surgical staff has been amazing through all this process with us. We feel truly blessed by God that he led us to Dr. McCord. To Whom It May Concern:

After reading my previous statement, I stand behind it and more. My life continues to improve thanks to Dr. McCord. I was miserable before Dr. McCord's care! I have been able to lower my pain medicine dosage more than half in five months. I predict I will be able to go back to work within a year, all because of Dr. McCord. I am very upset at Southern Hills for denying me the use of their facility for my second set of surgeries. The first surgeries there with Dr. McCord were flawless. Dr. McCord is far advanced of his colleagues; therefore, they attack his judgment and ability. Your hospital needs to seriously reconsider using the services of Dr. McCord.

This statement is made by me of my own free will! Dr. McCord did not ask for this or prompt me. I feel everyone needs to know about Dr. McCord that can benefit from his ability. He has given me back a part of my life I lost 12 years ago.

Due to an unforeseen emergency I had to have surgery in another area of my back. I had a condition called cauda equina and Dr. McCord completed a PLIF procedure on October 17, 2016. Once again magic! The pain, numbness and incontinence have subsided, and I'm able to walk, bend and twist again. I'm so thankful for Dr. McCord and his team for giving me a chance again at a normal life. Dr. McCord, first, thank you! There are no words to truly tell you how much you have helped me. I have been in pain so long that I thought it was a way of life. For the first time since 2002, I have no lower back pain. It's very strange to get up every day in pain for 15 years and then have surgery and wake up with no pain.
